-------------------
In the natural world, bright colors on a creature's skin or fur often indicate poison, a warning that many creatures heed and back off leaving the brightly colored animal in peace. The Melonback Dooglot, also known as the Firebear, is not toxic, but rather its bright colors signify an even more extreme defense: Flammability. With thicker skin than most animals, the Dooglot is better protected from being punctured, and for good reason: If the chemicals in its blood meet the chemicals in its fur and skin (which can also cause rashes), the entire animal will rapidly burst into flames. This has the curious effect of making a Dooglot more dangerous post-mortem, and many travellers are surprised by this defense, several incidents have reported hunters being burned when attempting to catch the animals to use as food. As one can imagine, the Firebear is a major pest to the forests, causing massive fires that spread rapidly and are dificult to put out.
Related to the Paddling Dooglot, but not so closely as to be in the same genus. Since this one bursts into flames if it starts bleeding, it can't be used as food, and it's probably a better idea to fight with spells or poisons, anuthing that won't cause bleeding. Might make for an effective biological weapon...
For #Libre-Seremu

Once we get some members, this guy might make a good plot point for the Teak tribes, a great forest fire would be an interesting, if not unoriginal, challenge.
