Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

I finally got my copt of Pokemon White that I was promised like nine weeks ago, and lemme tell ya, it's worth the wait. I'd do one of those travel journal things, but I've been playing nonstop for about two and a haf days, so it's more like a team so far type of thing. Anyways, this is what I gots, it's kind of haphazardly thrown together, cause I just took what I liked and added it to my team, which made things pretty hard at first, a single reasonably trained Sigilyph could take down my entire team when Alfonso was down.
I also have this odd tendency to train more than a full team and swap them out when necesary, instead of trying to cram as much into one team as possible, take note.

James, M Serpereior, named for king James of english hstory because Serperioir makes me think royalty
Alfonso, M Krookodile, name just sound sortof like a mafia name to me, probably because of a tv show i saw
Roswell, M Elgyem, named for the Roswell alien incidens in mexico, this little guy's giving me trouble with training, he's pretty fragile
Nina, F Mienfoo, named for the ninja character in *TomPreston's Alex ze Pirate comics, and she's oddly effective against dragons
Tarra, F Galvantula, pun on 'tarantula,' note that a lot of pokemon in this gen are very weal and difficult to train, and then take quantum leaps in power when thy evolve
Starbucks, M Garbodor, named after the coffe cahin, I was watching an episode of SVU with coffe plantations when I caught him
Torta, F Tirtouga, pun on tortoise, I also believe it means cake in spanish
Fluffy, F Swoobat, pretty obvious if you ask me, she's my flyer, but i still use her to battle, too
Ninny, M Herdier, a nickname we call my dog, unfortunately he stopped being useful and started getting knocked out too easily, so I swapped him out for Tarra, but plan to finish his training once I'm past the elite four
Eddie, M Gurdurr, just seemed to suit him, never would've been swapped out if it weren't for the fact that i can't evolve him without two different game

There's only one other pokemon I really need to get my hands on, which is Meraruba, (I think it's Larvesta in english?) but I've heard you can't get until post-E4. Anyone know if this is true, and/or where I can get one?

My team in black is useless against the E4, I had no idea they would throw ghost, psy, dark and fighting at you -.- Now I need to build a whole new team up just to beat them. I could use the GTS but that's kinda cheating and I like my pkmn...

What was your team? If you can get a tough bug type, you'll be able to take out the dark and psychic e4, and more pokemon than just dark types will learn dark moves to combate Shantal. The fighting, guy, I jusr blasted with psyhic, I'm sure you have a pokemon that can learn it, except where to goet the tm?

Teehee I have white!! ^^ Congrats on your party, very impressive, i agree train wat you like not what you think is neccessary (thats why i find the need for pokemon to learn HM's annoying!!) but yeh, larvesta is off route 1 as previously stated and a guy in a ranger uniform in one of the buildings on an island gives it to you! Make sure you have a space free though!

Heh, I did have to go back for a free space. I don't find HMs as annying this time, it seems they're rarely necesary to progress, and there are plenty of cool flying or water types to teach fly or surf. I remember using cut to get into the draemyard, and don't think I ever used it again.

Yeh there are exceptions like surf and fly and strength but cut ALWAYS annoyed me!! hahahaha I think it would just be cooler for them either to be TMs or a specific type just knows how to do it??

Cool! That team sounds good! I've had Black for a month and it is a great game. I totally agree about using which ones you like no matter the stats. I used Scolipede to beat Grimsley in the Elite Four once (He's level 56 now) I have a Lv. 100 Chandelure (named Dante, as in Dante's Inferno), a Lv. 100 Haxorus (Named h4x0rus, since I felt like it), a Lv. 81 Samurott (Named Samurabi, like the Mesopotamian king Hamurabi), a Lv. 59 Eelektross (named TaserFish, since he's an electric eel), and a Lv. 56 Beheeyem (not sure about his name yet). I'm really looking forward to the Dream World because I want to get a Snivy (their Dream World Ability, Contrary, is one of the best in the game. It basically ups your stats when moves normally decrease them and vice versa. For example, instead of lowering your special attack two stages, Leaf Storm would raise it two stages). If you need any help with the playthrough, you can ask!

I was wondering about the Dream World myself, as Contrary definately sounds like one of the best, but I was too unsure and impatient, and chose Snivy as my starter. But since I run a different strategy, maybe I could train two of em if I can get one of the Dream World.
I called my Beeheeyem Roswell. Mine.
How do you people train your pokemon into oblivion like that!!?
And where do you catch Axew? Dragonspiral?
What about Tynamo? Chargestone?
